Food. Health. Wellness. Farm. Lifestyle.

Nutritious Spoon was born out of wanting to share my knowledge of food, whether it’s for health benefits, cultural cuisine and just my general love of food and cooking!  I’m fortunate to live on a hobby farm where my husband and I grow a lot of our own food. We also happen to share a love of travel and trying local cuisine of wherever we go. So from food-based remedies to low-carb living to inspiring a meal that might make you think you are on vacation, I hope to spark similar interests within you!

Sausage and Kale soup

This soup is easy, hearty and perfect for those colder days and nights. A family favorite and a staple in our house.

Chicken Bone Broth

Soups are a staple in our house. In the cooler months of the fall and winter, I make at least 2 soups a week. Fortunately for me, my family loves soup. Admittedly, I will make big batches to try to cover a few meals during a busy week and for the kids to take soup to school (when they were IN school!) for lunch. All great soups start with a homemade bone broth. It really is fairly simple, economical and you can accomplish it quite easily and it’s sooo good for you!

Stuffed Jalapeño Peppers

These peppers are great and really low carb and satisfy the need for spice and heat. I hope you enjoy them as much as my family does.

Special Coffee (keto friendly)

“Special Coffee” is probably one of the most requested beverages from my husband. He loves this way of preparing it. I typically reserve making it this way for the weekends, when time will allow and we are not all in a rush, running off in different directions!

Tableside Guacamole, Anyone?

One of my favorite treats at a restaurant is table side guacamole and here’s my recipe that you can easily make at home.
